(The following has become fairly redundant with the advent of GIMP for Windows 1.2.3.)
GIMP 1.2.2 was released in early summer 2001. This was the second bug fix release in the 1.2 branch. Windows users did not see this new version, because no Windows version had been made for this release.
1.2.2 was however important, because it contained many improvements in the manual. That is why I made a small distribution containing the following:
Download all the files in a ZIP-archive (625 kB).
Or download the readme file of this extras' distribution (TXT, 4 kB)
You can read more about GIMP 1.2.2. for Windows if you like.
(Please note that Linux users are better off downloading the entire 9 MB GIMP 1.2.2 distribution at ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v1.2/old/v1.2.2/.)
